Hugo Bacharach, has been selected 9th overall in the 2024 MLS Draft by Minnesota United.

Hugo’s selection as a top-10 draft pick is a testament to his hard work, talent, and elite preparation. His time at Eture Sports helped him sharpen his skills, gain international experience, and compete at a high level, positioning him for success in NCAA soccer and beyond. Now, he takes the next step in his career with Minnesota United, ready to prove himself at the professional level.

Before reaching the MLS Draft, Bacharach played collegiately at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he was named NEC Defensive Player of the Year, before transferring to Indiana University. There, he earned 20 starts, scored four goals, and provided four assists, helping the Hoosiers secure the Big Ten regular season and tournament championships. His performances earned him spots on the All-Big Ten Second Team and All-Big Ten Tournament Team, culminating in Indiana’s 29th NCAA Tournament Quarterfinal appearance.

Minnesota United has acquired a versatile and dynamic defender, capable of excelling as both a center-back and defensive midfielder. The club has signed Bacharach through the 2024 MLS season, with options extending through 2025-2027.

Originally from Spain, Bacharach spent over a decade in the Spanish Academy system, primarily developing with Villarreal, before making his mark in NCAA soccer and now in the MLS. His journey exemplifies the impact of Eture Sports’ player development pathway, bridging the gap between European-style training and U.S. college and professional soccer.

Congratulations, Hugo! The entire Eture family is cheering you on. Your journey is just beginning! ⚽💪
